Déjàvin Support

Déjàvin runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 26 or later) and Mac (macOS 26 or later). Answers to the common questions are below; for anything else, email us and a human replies within a few business days.

A label scanned imperfectly — what helps?

Stand the bottle on a table, fill the frame guide, and let auto-capture take the shot when the outline glows. Wrapped or sleeved vintage bottles scan fine — no need to unwrap. If an identification misses, open the bottle and tap “Re-identify from label photo”; your own edits always win over anything the app guessed.

What do the little badges next to values mean?

Honesty. Every value shows where it came from: confirmed by you, read from the label, or estimated by AI. One tap confirms a value as yours, and nothing you confirm is ever overwritten.

I scanned a whisky / beer / something that isn’t wine.

Déjàvin identifies wine. Other bottles are named for what they are and can still live in your cellar — the wine-specific AI features simply sit out for them.

How do voice tasting notes work?

Your speech is transcribed on your device. Your exact words are preserved permanently as the “verbatim take”; the structured note is built beside them, and you can correct any part of it with a tap. Audio recordings stay on your device and can be deleted per note.

How does sync work across my iPhone, iPad, and Mac?

Through your own iCloud account (Apple’s private database). Sign in to the same Apple account on each device and the cellar follows you. We have no access to it.

How do I manage or cancel my Déjàvin Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone/iPad, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. “Restore Purchases” inside the app re-activates Pro on a new device.

Is there a limit to how much I can scan?

Scanning into your cellar is never limited. AI identification is unlimited for wines already in Déjàvin’s shared catalog; wines that are new to the catalog draw on a monthly allowance (a small one on the free tier, a generous fair-use one on Pro) — designed so that even a serious collector onboarding a large cellar never notices it. Déjàvin is for personal, non-commercial use.

How do I delete my data?

Delete bottles or notes in the app, or delete the app and its iCloud data to remove everything. There is no account to close — see the privacy policy for what little our servers hold (nothing that identifies you).
